Casa
Oro has been serving the needs of
backpackers since 2001. It was built by
and for backpackers to make San Juan Del
Sur accessible to all budgets. Its ideal
location in the center of the village, one
block up from the beachfront, makes it a
perfect base to explore San Juan del Sur
and southern Nicaragua. Casa Oro is a
converted classical Nicaraguan wooden
house with Spanish inspiration. When you
step into Casa Oro, you will be greeted by
our friendly staff and management who
speak English, Spanish and French. Inside
you will find the reception and Adventure
& Info Center. Depending on the time you
arrive, you may find surfers getting their
boards loaded onto to the shuttle to the
beach or a group of sunburned travelers
enjoying a cold beer and watching a new
release on the large 42 inch flat screen
plasma television. Past our lobby, the
house opens up into an interior courtyard,
a full kitchen, a dining area and of
course, for your late afternoon siesta,
hammocks. Surrounding the inner courtyard
and up above you on the second floor are
our dormitories, Tortuga, Coco, Maderas
and Majagual, and our private rooms, all
with, as one traveler put it, the best
mattresses in Central America. The staff
at Casa Oro are here to make sure you
enjoy your stay. Whether its the
recommendation on the best pizza in town
(Bella Napoli, even New Yorkers agree),
the local surf conditions (if you see the
staff heading to the beach, start waxing
your board), even the best cure for a
hangover (a banana/passion fruit smoothie
with a touch of cinnamon), we can help you
with it all. So, as many of our travelers
do it here: come for a night and stay for
a month.Book
